Precautions for the use of protective current transformers

The protective current transformer features a novel structure, elegant appearance, easy installation, compact size, lightweight, high accuracy, and large capacity. The housing is made of flame-retardant and heat-resistant 140°C imported polycarbonate through injection molding. The iron core is wound with oriented cold-rolled silicon steel strips, and the secondary conductor is made of high-strength electromagnetic enameled wire.


Protective current transformers are generally used in relay protection circuits where multiple busbars pass through. They are developed to detect short-circuit faults for the protection system, featuring different accuracy levels and accuracy limit factors, and can be extended to accommodate different hole sizes. They are widely used in low-voltage distribution protection systems. They can also be used to collect low-voltage overload and short-circuit signals and are used in conjunction with protective relays.


The primary conductor passes through the window hole of the transformer. Open the flip cover, perform secondary wiring through the wire pressing piece, and then reset the flip cover after the secondary wiring is led out.


The operating current should not exceed 1.1 times the rated value for extended periods, and is allowed to be used briefly at 1.2 times the rated value for a duration not exceeding 1 hour;


The protected line equipment is connected to terminals S1 and S2. At this time, the total load of the connected circuit should not exceed the rated load of the transformer.
